Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where is Georgia Theatre located?
The Georgia Theatre is located at 215 N Lumpkin St. between Washington St. and Clayton St. in the heart of downtown Athens, GA.
  • Where should I park?
We recommend parking at the West Washington Street parking deck immediately behind Georgia Theatre. Drive in front of the Theatre and take a left at the light on Washington St. The entrance will be immediately on your left.
  • Where can I purchase tickets?

Tickets should be purchased through our website via our ticketing company - AXS.com.  Any tickets purchased through other companies are not guaranteed to be legitimate. If you'd rather purchase tickets in person at our box office, we are open Wednesday through Saturday at 3pm during warmer months (March through November) and one hour before doors on show days from December - February. There is a $1 box office fee per ticket.

  • Are ticket sales refundable?
Please note that Georgia Theatre does not offer refunds. All sales are final.
  • How old do I need to be to get in?

Check the event info of the show you're interested in. Some shows are 18+, some are all ages. If a show is 18+ and you are under 18, you can still

attend if you are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • When can I pick up my Will Call tickets?
Will Call tickets will be available to be picked up one hour before posted door time at the venue. You must have an ID to redeem Will Call tickets.
  • How do I give my Will Call tickets to another person?
In most cases, if you purchased tickets online and you are unable to attend you may give a photo copy of your drivers license to whomever you would like to redeem those tickets – texting a photo is ok. Please make sure to review info provided for each show as there are cases where tickets are non-transferrable.
  • Can I sell my tickets for more than I paid for them?
Absolutely not! We frown on scalpers and do everything in our power to stop them. If you are caught selling or buying tickets for more than face value you will not be allowed to attend and your karma will be in dire jeopardy.
  • The show is sold out. What can I do?
Make a new friend that has an extra ticket. We do everything in our power to stop scalping. Please note we will not support tickets purchased through second party vendors (StubHub, Razorgator, TicketsNow, etc.)
  • When can I enter the venue, and when will the music start?
Typically, doors are at 8pm with music starting at 9pm, but please check the specific event page to be sure. We would also like to note that most shows will be over around midnight. Please come join us on the roof after a show!
  • Is food offered at the venue?
Yes - we have a great food menu on our rooftop! We serve lunch and dinner, but because the rooftop is outdoors, our hours will vary based on the weather.
  • Is there ADA seating available?
We offer accessible seating accommodations at every concert, and strive to serve all patrons equally to provide an accessible and hassle-free event experience.

If we exceed our allotment for accessible seating for a specific event, we may no longer be able to guarantee a seat. Please reach out to the venue (hello@georgiatheatre.com) with as much advance notice as is reasonable to inquire about specific accommodations or concerts.
  • What is your bag policy?
We do not allow full size backpacks, and all bags are subject to search.
  • Is photography permitted?
Small point-and-shoot cameras and smartphones are permitted, but we please ask that you turn off the flash out of respect for the artists. Professional SLR cameras will require special permission from each individual artist’s management.
  • What is your weapons policy?
Firearms, explosives, flammable substances and other weapons of any kind are not allowed on Georgia Theatre property. This includes, but is not limited to rifles, shotguns, pistols, BB guns, pellet guns, bows and arrows, stun guns, knives, and martial arts weapons.
  • Can I smoke inside?
Athens/Clarke County law prohibits smoking inside. Period. However, smoking will be allowed on the roof patio.
  • Do you have seats?
The majority of our shows are General Admission standing room only. If a show has seating, it is specified in the show info on our website. Please reference our ADA FAQ section for more relevant info on ADA accommodations. Unfortunately, any seating in the venue is limited to barstools and is first come first serve basis and not available for all shows.
  • I need to stay the night, where do you suggest?
Our friends at Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, The Hyatt and The Hilton are all located in the downtown area a few blocks from the venue.
  • Are you going to be offering UGA football games on the big screen?
