Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where is Georgia Theatre located?
The Georgia Theatre is located at 215 N Lumpkin St. between Washington St. and Clayton St. in the heart of downtown Athens, GA.
  • Where should I park?
We recommend parking at the West Washington Street parking deck immediately behind Georgia Theatre. Drive in front of the Theatre and take a left at the light on Washington St. The entrance will be immediately on your left.
  • Where can I purchase tickets?

Tickets should be purchased through our website via our ticketing company - AXS.com.  Any tickets purchased through other companies are not guaranteed to be legitimate. If you'd rather purchase tickets in person at our box office, we are open Wednesday through Saturday at 3pm during warmer months (March through November) and one hour before doors on show days from December - February. There is a $1 box office fee per ticket.

  • Are ticket sales refundable?
Please note that Georgia Theatre does not offer refunds. All sales are final.
  • How old do I need to be to get in?

Check the event info of the show you're interested in. Some shows are 18+, some are all ages. If a show is 18+ and you are under 18, you can still

attend if you are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • When can I pick up my Will Call tickets?
Will Call tickets will be available to be picked up one hour before posted door time at the venue. You must have an ID to redeem Will Call tickets.
  • How do I give my Will Call tickets to another person?
In most cases, if you purchased tickets online and you are unable to attend you may give a photo copy of your drivers license to whomever you would like to redeem those tickets – texting a photo is ok. Please make sure to review info provided for each show as there are cases where tickets are non-transferrable.
  • Can I sell my tickets for more than I paid for them?
Absolutely not! We frown on scalpers and do everything in our power to stop them. If you are caught selling or buying tickets for more than face value you will not be allowed to attend and your karma will be in dire jeopardy.
  • The show is sold out. What can I do?
Make a new friend that has an extra ticket. We do everything in our power to stop scalping. Please note we will not support tickets purchased through second party vendors (StubHub, Razorgator, TicketsNow, etc.)
  • When can I enter the venue, and when will the music start?
Typically, doors are at 8pm with music starting at 9pm, but please check the specific event page to be sure. We would also like to note that most shows will be over around midnight. Please come join us on the roof after a show!
  • Is food offered at the venue?
Yes - we have a great food menu on our rooftop! We serve lunch and dinner, but because the rooftop is outdoors, our hours will vary based on the weather.
  • Is there a specific accessible entryway or are all entries accessible?
    All entries are accessible.
  • Where are the ADA viewing areas?
ADA viewing areas are located either behind the sound position on the first floor or the level 3 balcony, depending on the layout for a particular event. Please ask a venue representative for assistance upon your arrival.

  • Are there specific ADA restrooms? If so, where are they?
    All restrooms have accessible stalls.
  • Where are the elevators (or chair lifts), if applicable?
Elevator is located in the rear, left side of the venue, when facing the stage.
  • Is ADA parking available? If so, generally where are they located?
ADA parking is available adjacent to the venue in the West Washington St. Deck. The deck has a patron exit onto Clayton street, right next to the venue.
  • What is your bag policy?
We do not allow full size backpacks, and all bags are subject to search.
  • Is photography permitted?
Small point-and-shoot cameras and smartphones are permitted, but we please ask that you turn off the flash out of respect for the artists. Professional SLR cameras will require special permission from each individual artist’s management.
